Great Places to Eat at Elmhurst, Queens, NY (Indo Cuisine, YAY!)

People often say that when moving in to a new country, the first two weeks are always the hardest. True. I started my first week in NYC using AirBnb, until I realized I had to move somewhere else for another 2 weeks before my new apartment lease starts. Long story short, I got introduced to a new circle of Indonesian friends living in Elmhurst, Queens, who turned out to be total foodies! People who love to eat are always the best people, they say. Again, it's true. :)

Where to Find the Best Gudeg in Bandung. Like, the BEST.

Disclaimer: My ‘best’ might be different from your ‘best’. But if you’re curious with mine, read on.

Having lived in Bandung for 4 years during college, I never really looked up for Gudeg. True story. Because it’s not really the staple food for Sundanese, in here we would prefer Chicken Noodles (Yamin) or Siomay or Batagor instead. One thing for sure, I’m overwhelmed. And grateful I had the chance. The hospitality was amazing.

I DID IT! World Street Food Congress 2013, Here I Come!

On Tuesday, I was having a regular Lync concall at the office when my phone kept ringing for about 4 times from 021-xxxxxxx. I was nearly like, "Okay this shouldn't be just another credit card phone scam, this might be somewhat important". And so my boss told me to pick up the phone; so I paused our meeting and I answered.

Meet My All Time Favorite Snack: CIRENG

I've said it before, Cireng to Indonesian is as addictive as French Fries to Americans, and Tteokbokki to Koreans, lol. Had been living in Bandung for over 4 years during college, it was more than enough for cireng to leave a long-lasting impression to me :p It's cheap, tasty, and you can found them almost everywhere. But ever since I moved back to Jakarta, I tell you, it's quite hard to find cireng stalls on the street. Even if it's available, they're nothing like what I usually had in Bandung. Until one day.....
